Today is the most important day

Today is the most important day in our lives; we become great daily by what we do daily. Today is a present, a gift of life that we must appreciate by maximizing its use.

What is it about today we must know?

  • Today's decision creates tomorrow's provisions. Esau decided to sell his birthright today and had nothing to reap in his tomorrow.
  • Today is the future we spoke about yesterday so we must utilize it wisely. Esau failed to take hold of his future today and this made him truncate his dreams because of a plate of food.
  • What we do today is capable of making us better or battered. Esau's decision to gratify his stomach caused him pain for the rest of his life.
  • Today is not a promise made, it is a promise kept. Esau thought he was making a promise to give away his birthright but little did he know that the deal was sealed when he stretched out his hands to receive his plate of damnation in exchange for his rights as a firstborn.
  • Today will not count if you do not count it by the minute. Every minute Esau spent negotiating for a plate of food made him loose the blessing of today and the hope for the future.
  • Today's seed sown produces the harvest of the future. Esau sowed a seed of scorn and disregard. He had penchant for bad decision and this eventually caused him a loss of the blessings and inheritances of his father.
  • Today is in the power of your hands and not of your enemies or friends. Esau gave power to his brother when he decided to exchange his birthright for food.
  • Today will fade away when you choose to fritter it away in leisure. Esau chose to be in the open field where he caught nothing and wasted his resources in leisurely pursuit.

Esau failed to cook his meal, rather he went in pursuit of vanity in the open field. He woke up early and sat up late to eat the bread of sorrow.

Esau typifies people who daily chase the wind to reap the whirlwind. Esau refused to change, he continued in a vocation that brought him pain. As we saw later on, he lost the blessings of Isaac his father because he went chasing for game in the field where he was never successful.

Esau was like a mad man, he kept doing the same thing expecting a different result, no wonder he ended up a loser.

15 Powers of Thought

  1. Your thought is the architect that designs the master plan of your life
  2. What you think about most often you will surely dream of
  3. The more you think positively the less you act negatively
  4. The force of positive thought activates the power of      creativity
  5. Positive thought is the first step towards uncommon achievements
  6. You need to think great in order to live great
  7. When you think the way ordinary men think, you live the kind of life ordinary men live
  8. When you think negatively you speed up the rate of failure. Negative thought is a recipe for disaster
  9. Where positive thought dies off is where worry begins (the environment of negativity)
  10. When your thought is small you belittle the power of your Maker
  11. Where thoughts of good exist evil cannot thrive
  12. When you think the way extraordinary men think you will live the kind of life extraordinary men live
  13. Your level of thought is a reflection of the company you keep (Minds that think alike flock together)
  14. Whether you win or you lose it all begins with your thought.
  15. The harvests you reap today are the seed of thoughts you sowed yesterday
Dear friend what shapes your habit is your daily thought, and what shapes your life is your habit. You cannot disassociate who you are and become from the symphony created from your thoughts. Make your thoughts count and your life will count.

Principle 1: Wisdom-The Principal Ingredient

What in the world makes one person different from another? One person is poor the other is rich. One is a fool, the other is wise. One is wretched, the other is wealthy. Two persons born on the same day, one becomes an outstanding success, the other an emblem of failure. What actually fashioned the lives of these people? They breathe the same oxygen of life but arrived at different destinations. How? There is one thing that made the difference in their lives and this is the most precious thing- Wisdom. It is clear cut that what made the difference between these 2 persons was that one chose wisdom and the other embraced foolishness; one chose the rough path and the other the smooth threaded road. One loved learning and the other despised knowledge; this made one A GEM and the other A RAG.

Wisdom is the principal thing. You should invest all you have to get wisdom. Great men and women of this generation invest all they have, especially time, energy and resources, to acquire skillful wisdom, which they applied to change their lives and situations around them.

One of the grave mistake people make in life is that they crave to change the world without first changing themselves. Acquiring skillful wisdom changes first the individual, it redefines and calibrates his attitude, it also alters and revolutionizes his perception of life and thus enables him to create impact and become a difference maker. Change occasioned by wisdom is a phenomenon that begins from within the individual and radiates with great glow outward.

Life is loaded with a lot of great opportunities, what matters is the direction you are looking at. Wisdom creates the ability to harness opportunities when they come dressed in work clothing.

MAKE IT HAPPEN

Delay some say is DANGEROUS, which is a very factual statement. Everyone of us has something we hope to accomplish, dreams we hope would come true, goals we intend to achieve and a good life we hope to attain. However, as we go on in life we soon realize that there are so many things calling for our attention, most of which are just distractions that take our eyes from the goal.

One of such critical distracting element is delay. Delay that comes from waiting for all the conditions to be right, delay that comes from waiting to have enough before beginning, delay that comes from waiting on others to act or to help before we start. Delay is a distraction that keeps you from attaining your true worth in life. You need to quit waiting and make it happen.

Making it happen means to start whatever it is you need to start. You don't need the sun, the moon and the stars to align to begin. Quit waiting on 'magical moments' to begin, such only exist in the movies or on stage. You must start with what you have, be it a little passion, a little energy, a little capital, a little book, a little step, as long as you keep going forward you will eventually make happen for you your greatest expectation.

Success only happens to people that make things happen, while moving towards their goal on a daily basis. Make it happen today whatever you really desire to achieve.

Enjoy

WHAT EXACTLY DO YOU WANT...MR. NOBODY

Mr. Nobody was born on a certain day, but he always seems to live his life with so much uncertainty that it is much easier to predict his end before he even sets out. Mr. Nobody has dreams without plans, he lives in the world of great illusion and inaction, he wakes up each day with a sluggish grin on his face, he says to himself that today will just be like every other day and with that he jump-starts his life, forgetting that he has no oil of hope in his engine, nor does he have the fuel of zeal in his tank.

He speaks of things that looks so much like an avalanche of mud on a rainy day…he wants to be so many things, be everywhere, and be all things to all people….but never prepared to become someone, with this I am quite shocked, and this makes me to ask….Mr. Nobody, What exactly do you want?

THE SIN…THE THINGS NOT DONE

Myles Munroe once said that it is the burial place, the grave, that you will find the greatest un-utilized treasures, I tend to agree with him 50% because I also see that there are the dead among the living, the mobile corpse that depletes the oxygen meant for people with great focus. Mr. Nobody would have become somebody if not for the SINS he commits daily, and what sins are these? The things that he needs to do that eventually become the things not done. Fortunately, in my course of research I have been granted audience in the gallery of Mr. Nobody, and beautifully displayed in his gallery are portraits of his belief systems and what he unconsciously and consciously holds dear to his heart, which has earned him a full fledged certification as Mr. Nobody.

THE PORTRAIT OF PROCRASTINATION

Procrastination they say is a thief of time, but I often wonder which and whose time? Definitely procrastination is a thief of life. Mr. Nobody says, I will get it done tomorrow, or I will do it later and gradually he never gets anything done, He is a drug trafficker, but this time the drug he traffics is called “let it wait”. Mr. Nobody has great talent, without skill, great words without worth, great dreams without zeal; he is a shadow of the real thing. Mr. Nobody is the only surviving offspring of faith without work…then I ask, Mr. Nobody what exactly do you want?

HEARTLESS….

Hear him speak, Mr. Nobody, he is full of causes for those who will not and could not help him, he thinks they have so much and give nothing or so little. He wants to reap where he has not sown, he sees everyone as heartless, cold and selfish, except himself, damn it! Are the foul words under his breath, he toils with his life thinking others would see him and have pity. Nevertheless, he doesn’t achieve his penny’s worth.

Mr. Nobody knows what others have but he refuses to dig down within him to see what he himself has to give. He forgets the old unbreakable principle that better to give than to receive. What exactly you want in life knowingly or unknowingly is what you get…are you are a Mr. Nobody?

Enjoy.
